[The scene opens to a camera view of James Radford as he slips on his leather vest with the confederate flag embroidered on the back. He’s already dressed for battle, fists taped, boots laced tight. There’s an edge to his demeanor as the time draws closer to his entrance and when Bobby Benson enters the frame beside him, the wily manager looks eager to put that edge to work.]
BOBBY BENSON
James, this is the biggest night of your life, and opportunity to become the #1 Contender to the Union Battleground Championship. Dakota Smith has that title firmly wrapped around his waist after Guerrilla Warfare, but…you owe him.
[James is silent, eyes glinting like cold steel. He brings his hands together to smooth out the tape wound around his fists.]
BOBBY BENSON
Your ear, James. Remember your ear…
[Benson came off sounding like some fucked up Yoda in the way that he says it, but he shrugs, seeing the effect it has on James as his jaw tightens at the memory.]
BOBBY BENSON
But before you can get to the champion, you have to take care of business tonight. Bryan Williams and Indi Rhyder are not going to make this easy on you. You’re going to have to use your size to your advantage. Throw them off their game by running them over and keeping them grounded. Watch out for Indi’s flying, and be mindful that you have to have eyes in the back of your head when it comes to Williams.
[James nods while Bobby clips his bullhorn with ‘Country Fine’ air brushed onto the side ofit to his belt.]
BOBBY BENSON
You’re ready for this. You’ve trained too hard to let this opportunity go to waste, and I believe in you. The fans believe in you. So, you have to deliver, baby. You have to be the man I know you to be. Sure, Indi’s faster. Sure, Bryan’s more experienced. Sure, they are the odds-on favorites to win…
[Suddenly James is staring like a deer caught in the headlights, and Bobby quickly realizes he needs to redirect the conversation and get back on track.]
BOBBY BENSON
But none of that even matters, and you know why? Because you’ve got me in your corner!
[James casts an incredulous glance Bobby’s way, and his fists post on his hips.]
JAMES RADFORD
Weren’t you just trying to recruit Indi Rhyder earlier in the night?
[Benson shakes his head vehemently, animated hands flying all over the place.]
BOBBY BENSON
It’s not like that, baby! I was just trying to get inside of her head so you could take the advantage. I’m team Radford all the way…
[James looks doubtful as Benson nervously pauses to assess his wards reaction. Seeing his misgivings, he sighs heavily, and then swings his finger towards the hallway.]
BOBBY BENSON
Let’s go!
[Bobby marches out of camera view, leaving Radford with a slight smile on his face at the sight of his manager all out of sorts. He flashes the camera a boyish wink before moving to follow. The scene switches to commercial.]
