Many look to The Circle as the end-all be-all to CTN and its wrestling empire, when in fact, it is merely the culmination of the many groups that have come before it. The Circle was founded by Catherine 'Cat' Jones back in the days of Survival Wrestling, circa 1999. During the absence of Alicia Sinn and her companion, Damian Knight, Cat seized the moment and reformed the famed Legion into something a bit more modernistic and stylish. Money, glam, and arrogance in excess made this one of the great stables in modern wrestling history. It's rivalries were legendary...eclipsed only by the in-fighting that plague it.
Through much of 2000, when Johnny Storm became the sole-owner of the Gladiator Wrestling Association, The Circle became a thorn in his side, fighting against the establishment at every turn. In particular, Gladiator Champion, Nikki Silver, was hell bent on outshining everyone on the roster, including his own stable mates. Between the drama that the stable was creating for the promotion, and the drama that always seemed to follow them within their own organization, things reached a fever pitch in early 2001, when Storm Corporation associate, Sebastian Boch, defeated Nikki Silver for the championship. This caused a cascade effect of bad decisions and mismanagement that ultimately saw the entire stable vacate the promotion, and leave it without one of it's main sources of income. Johnny Storm, missing the limelight of competition, and feeling that the GWA was a dead fish, abandoned the company to go try his hand in the Fans Wrestling Federation a second time. Storm left a replacement staff to keep GWA afloat, but during his departure many injustices were carried out that ended up bringing him back sooner than he had hoped.
When the Fantastic One did return, however, he was not alone. Lexus O'Bannon, Kevin O'Neil, and new lover, Stephanie Connor, all highers ups within The Circle organization's front office returned at his side. In a move that shocked the world, Johnny Storm formally signed a contract with Sinn Towers, making him a full fledged member of The Circle. Under the Circle banner Storm picked up two more Gladiator Championship runs, and eventually proposed to Stephanie the night that the GWA closed it's doors.
When Storm resurfaced in IWF, he had shed himself of The Circle, but only just barely. It's often said that The Circle are like the mob. Once a member, always a member, whether you like it or not. The group and Storm had several run ins over the years, and even helped one another out at times, but currently Stephanie Connor is a full fledged employee of The Storm Corporation, having left her Circle ties behind her. The two were married in 2010, and still live in Charlotte, where the power couple reign over the empire that is The Storm Corporation.
