Ascension Wrestling and Shockwave were two start up wrestling promotions began by "Rock Hard" Jimmy Jackson and Adam Lavine. The two former GWA superstars wanted to bring some competition directly against the GWA, who's owner at the time was none other than Johnny Storm. Recent events in Storm's life had left things upside down for the Gladiator God, and as such, he saw the upstart companies as a threat to his interests despite their slow starts. He called upon the contracts of two former associates of his, one time allies, but better enemies, Press & Flaming Youth, The BombTrax. He used his legal sway over the two men's wrestling careers to direct them on a path of destruction through the AW & Shockwave that left both companies pigeon holed to barely stay afloat. The BombTrax took control of the shows, winning the promotions Tag Championships, and then making off with them onto other programming. The two companies only managed to stay afloat for a three month span before shutting their doors forever.
Despite what Johnny Storm thought was his doing, the true reason the two feds failed was because of mismanagement and financial woes that went far past the doors of the arenas. Despite that fact, The BombTrax were instrumental in carrying out Storm's wishes, which ultimately contributed to the two fed's downfalls.
